Zanni DreamWeaver
Dream Weaver — the title of Zanni’s first solo show and, more famously, the name of a program for designing websites—presents a series of nine “missing images.” These images reproduce the white box with a small red cross at the top that commonly appears when an image hasn’t downloaded correctly on a web page, on Napster, or on your desktop.
In oil-on-canvas, Zanni paints the essential symbols—Desktop, Icons, Folders, and Software—of a common landscape, shared by millions worldwide on a daily basis (even in the slight differences encountered by choosing a PC or a Mac).
