Pedro Barbeito

A young, Spanish-born, New York-based artsits, Berbeito begins his paintings by using images from the Internet and the world of science. After manipulating these appropriated images – usually microscopic or astrological in content – he transfers his inventions by hand to canvases. Through a combination of graphic grid patterns and pixilated relief forms, he produces works that exist between the scientific and the fantastic and push the physicality of painting to a new level.
