Kutlug Ataman Women Who Wear Wigs

Filmed in Istambul, Women Who Wear Wigs is a four-screen video projection of interviews with four Turkish women who explain why they must wear wigs. Ataman blends documentary with fiction and moves beyond the compelling nature of the personal circumstances surrounding each woman’s need to wear wigs to touch on broader issues of identity, gender, and political repression.
