Renato Barisani Opere 1990/2000
Following on from the large-scale retrospective exhibition Renato Barisani - Opere 1950/2000, organized by Naples City Council in November 2000 at the Castel Dell’Ovo, Renato Barisani is currently showing a range of works, which date between 1990 and 2000, at the Galleria Vismara in Milan.
Medium-sized canvases are on display alongside small sculptures. The repetitions and variations in Barisani’s works have been eradicated in this show, as each piece has been specifically selected to represent a point of arrival and, contemporaneously, a step in a new direction and therefore a point of departure. Barisani’s oeuvre is homogenous, yet, through his incessant exploration of the structure of the artistic language, continually evolving.
Barisani takes no breaks on his journey; his is a ceaseless march to investigate the infinite possibilities of materials and ideas.
