Alberto Cavalieri Batonnets

This exhibition of recent works by the painter Alberto Cavalieri includes mixed media pieces on panel and a number of bronzes.
Cavalieri’s still little-known recent works (1999 – 2000) are distinguishable from his earlier production by the continuous dialogue between the written symbol (the artist’s main field of research since 1975) and the presence of balsa wood “batonnets,” which are at times kept simple, at others superimposed to create reliefs, and thus more prevalent.
Cavalieri zealously applies the same “batonnets” with great skill in his bronze works.
