The Galerie Catherine Issert is now 25 years old. Since 1975, it has continued to convey the artistic expression of the international avant-garde. The gallery's location at Saint-Paul de Vence or, more simply, on the French Riviera, is highly beneficial for setting up relationships based on affinities with artists, art-lovers, curators from all the world. The Seventies marked a theorization and conceptualization of art represented by research undertaken by the group Support-Surface, then Fluxus and Arte Povera. The Eighties started out with a return to figurative painting; abstract art was still defended by artists who gave it a new interpretation. The Gallery would like to share its multiple ans complementary experiences in the fine arts. The program can be defined as taking topical debates on contemporary art into account, while maintaining a constant presence and loyalty that have been further enriched by working alongside artists over the long term. Over the years, these privileged encounters have enabled the Gallery to pursue its efforts to obtain public commissions and integrate artists' projects into the architectural scene, as well as its publishing activities in the field of art editions and multiple objects. This form of expression will henceforth be extended with the creation of a showcase for editions of objects and design.
