Italarte has been founded in 1971 by Teresa and Pino Purificato, the heirs of the famous painter Domenico Purificato whose art works are exhibited in many Italian and foreign museums, who manage with great success two art galleries in Rome (one of which is located in the ancient roman theatre of Pompeo), one in Milan and one in Verona. It has been operating for many years in Europe and in the world with the aim of promoting the diffusion and the sale of pieces of art created by the most significant Italian contemporary painters and sculptors. Italarte has organized exhibitions in Belgium (Brussels, Gent, Huy), Switzerland (Geneva), Spain (Madrid), United States (new York, San Francisco), Japan (Tokio), Balearic Islands (Palma de Mallorca), Austria (Wien), and in some of the cities, such as Gent, Strasbourg, Madrid, Italarte is invited every year to partecipate to important art exhibitions and has established cultural exchanges with other exhibitors and galleries. One of the most important exhibition in 1997 was organized in Buenos Aires with seven well known artists – Ettore De Conciliis, Franco Fortunato, Alberto Galleristi, Mario Haupt, Antonio Saliola, Franco Marzilli and Alessandro Kokocinski (whos talent in using colors and figures has received a wide incontestable appreciation from critics and public). Its is to be emphasized that the most attractive characteristic of Italarte is the possibility to offer to the public not only a vary choice of famous names but also quotation which range from one million lira to 100 million lira. Moreover, especially during Christmas period, Italarte offers some limited graphic multiples at very reasonable prices compared to the oil paintings. Italarte organizes every year at least 10 personal exhibitions in its Italian galleries, bringing new talents to the attention of the public and especially promoting the knowledge of the great contemporary art masters. These exhibitions, which normally last not less than one month, are widely publicised by the press, and always have a large attendance of public as well as great appreciation by critics, historians, collectors and specialised people. Moreover, during the year Italarte promotes in one of its gallery in Rome /which is built on two levels) some interesting evening events, such as presentation of books, revivals of movie artist or singers, special exhibitions restricted to no more than three painters who present their work made on a particular theme (the last one organized in 1997 was dedicated to the Divina Commedia). Since many years Italarte Galleries have established commercial relationships with important Italian business operators and clients, such as Banca d’Italia, Banca di Roma, Banca Nazionale dell’Agricoltura, Abi (Banks Association), Fiat, Telecom, Iri, Ibm and others, and have exclusive rights in Spain for graphic artworks of artists such as De Chirico, Borghese, Marzilli, Saliola.
