In 1989, year of death of the painter Walter Lazzaro, whose atelier was located at the corner of via Brera, the gallery was opened to gather and display his works.
The exhibition area is also employed by other painters, rigorously invited and selected by the owner of the gallery, who want to tribute to Walter Lazzaro.
The main goal of the gallery is to spread put the art heritage of Lazzaro. That is why the gallery sets up theme exhibitions, with the edition of a catalogue, which become travelling exhibitions, for instance La parola dipinta (The painted word) and Elegia del mare (Elegy of the sea).
The gallery has recently printed the second volume of the works by Lazzaro (Ed. Giorgio Mondadori) with the critical text by Paolo Levi.
