Since opening in October 1996, Lehmann Maupin has organized multi-faceted exhibitions for an array of American and international contemporary artists working in a wide range of media. Several of its exhibitions have re-examined the work of well-established artists such as Richard Artschwager, Ross Beckner, Gilbert & George and David Salle. The gallery also has given many artists their first one-person exhibitions in New York, including Marie Josè Burki, Tracey Emin, Shirazeh Houshiary, Jörg Sasse, Jeffrey Vallance and Adriana Varejão. Lehmann Maupin is also committed to working with promising young artists at the beginning of their carrers, artists like Pedro Barbeito, Bonnie Collura and Do-Ho Suh, all of whom the gallery is proud to represent. The gallery aims to exhibit artwork that reveals its unique breadth and diversity.
