Altoids Curiously Strong Collection

25 emerging contemporary artists from Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and elsewhere are featured in this group exhibition, appearing here after a year-long national tour. This is the 2nd travelling exhibition of new acquisitions to the Altoids collection, assembled each year by a committee of prominent artists, curators and gallerists and exhibited nationwide. Comprising photography, video, drawings, paintings and sculpture, some of the exhibition’s highlights include Reanne Estrada’s drawings from soap; Seong Chun’s literature-laden paper sculptures; a video by Euan McDonald; a large scale installation of fast food drink cups by Patrick Micelli; and D’nell Larson’s passenger-capable swan sculptures entitled Bump.
