The Tucci Russo Gallery was founded 25 years ago, in 1975, by Antonio Tucci Russo and Paolo Marinucci, who left the gallery two years later; in 1982 Elisabetta Di Grazia joined the staff. The first exhibition, in 1975, was by Pier Paolo Calzolari; in the following years the gallery hosted exhibitions by artists such as Remo Salvadori, Marco Bagnoli, Sandro Chia, Enzo Cucchi, Mario Merz, Giovanni Anselmo, Jannis Kounellis e Marisa Merz. Other exhibitions followed by Italian artists: Luigi Mainolfi, Luigi Stoisa, Alfredo Pirri, Vittorio Messina and Giuseppe Penone, as well as American and European artists: Maria Nordman, Thomas Schütte, Harald Klingeholler, Richard Long, Tony Cragg, Daniel Buren, Jan Vercruysse, Lili Dujourie and Thomas Schütte. Among the younger artists, Artissima has presented works by Paolo Piscitelli and Gert Verhoeven. In 1994 the gallery moved to Torre Pellice, a little town near Turin, in a fascinating ex-industrial building that once hosted a textile factory.
