The Italian government has said that state funds amounting to $ 476.2 million (€ 516.4 million) will be made available in case the country comes under future terrorist attacks. Amongst the targets considered most at risk are the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Milan Cathedral, the Colosseum, and the cities of Rome as well as Florence and Venice. Being such universally recognised symbols, any attack would further rock Western security and exacerbate economic worries. (Annalisa Rossi)
