A recently discovered painting by Nicholas Poussin (1594-1665) will be offered for sale at the Swiss auction house Galerie Koller in their sale of Old Master and 19th century paintings on the 5th of October in Geneva. Entitled The Holy Family with St. John the Baptist, this oil on canvas measuring 80 x 63 cm has been authenticated by Pierre Rosenberg (président-directeur of the Louvre) and Poussin-expert Sir Denis Mahon, who both date the work to 1627-1628. The painting has an estimate of 1,500,000-3,000,000 Swiss Francs or $ 942,890-1.8 million (€ 1.02-2.05 million).
