Bonhams, London holds its sale of Modern and Contemporary paintings on the 21st of November with highlights including Stanhope Alexander Forbes’ (1857-1947) Young girl in a Cornish street, an oil on canvas laid down on board with an estimate of $ 60,000-88,580 (€ 65,100-96,100). Works by the Scottish colourists are also on offer. Tulips in a blue vase by George Leslie Hunter (1877-1931) is valued at $ 44,290-73,820 (€ 48,270-80,450), whilst Sound of Iona towards the Isle of Mull by Francis Campbell Boileau Cadell (1883-1937) is priced at $ 30,000-44,290 (€ 32,700-48,270). Continental artists include the French artist Raoul Dufy, (1877-1953) with his Maisons rouges a Sainte-Addresse which is listed in the 1985 catalogue raisonné of the artist’s paintings. Bonhams also offer a coloured pencil drawing by Damien Hirst from his spot series inscribed Those were`t (wurt) Daze and your son`s Willy happy birthday Joan (you don`fire blanks) Thanks, Damien`ô with an estimate of $ 14,760-22,150 (€ 16,100-24,140).
