Still life with a red egg by Ardengo Soffici, Penelope by Mario Sironi and Idol and house by Massimo Campigli are among the top lots of the Modern and Contemporary Art auction that will be held in Milan tomorrow, 20th of November 2001. Over 250 works of art will be presented in two parts, with estimates ranging between $ 480-210,000 (€ 520-230,000). As well as the above mentioned works, with estimates that oscillate between $ 93,000-210,000 (€ 86,000-230,000), also worthy of note are a few works on paper by Giacomo Balla (estimates: $ 5,700-11,000, € 6,200-12,000), a Spatial Concept in painted terracotta by Lucio Fontana ($ 22,000-31,000, € 24,000-34,000), three brass sculptures from the Seventies by Fausto Melotti ($ 8,600-43,000, € 9,300-46,000) and The six senses by Alighiero Boetti. This work, composed by 6 panels executed in green biro on paper, has an estimate of $ 72,000-95,000 (€ 78,000-100,000). (Elena Balzani)
