The New York International Antiquarian Fine Art Fair opens for the first time to the public at Madison Square Garden, Manhattan on Friday 30th of November. The fair comprises over fifty leading dealers in fine art and antiques from Europe and the United States, including a contingent of 22 dealers from the UK. The fair is organised by Jerome Eisenberg of Royal-Athena Galleries, New York, and Bruce Ferrini of Akron, Ohio, both dealers and veterans of numerous major fairs in Europe and the United States. Director of the fair is Kevin Looney, manager for three years of the International Fine Arts Expositions at Palm Beach. The exposition is devoted to antiques and fine arts from antiquity to Art Deco and will feature the exhibition The Antiquarian Menagerie: 5000 Years of Animals in Art. Due to the unavailability of both the New York armories due to occupation following the Sepember 11th tragedy, all the other major fine art fairs usually scheduled from September to December have been cancelled, putting the focus on this new international exposition. The fair will run from the 30th of November to the 4th of December. (Luisa Vassallo)
