On the 19th of December Finarte Milan will hold an auction focused on “young art”, presenting the works of 65 emerging artists from Italy and abroad. Several names are already well-known to the market: Vanessa Beecroft’s Untitled, a collage and watercolour on card will be offered at $ 4,150-5,100 (€ 4,600-5,600) while Maurizio Cattelan’s La lotta di classe, pen on paper, has been estimated at $ 924-1,300 (€ 1,030-1,500). It will be interesting to see the market’s response to artists that rarely come up for auction, like Luca Pignatelli. A pair of works by the artist, Paesaggio di guerra, mixed media on laminated board has an estimate of $ 2,300-2,700 (€ 2,500-3,100). Also Mark Kostabi, whose circular oil on canvas Giro Giro Pio, has been quoted at $ 924-1,150 (€ 1,030-1,300), and Gabriele Di Matteo whose oval pair of oils on canvas, Il fruttivendolo, will start from $ 2,300-2,700 (€ 2,500-3,100).
