Christie’s, New York offers its sale of Old Master and 19th century drawings on the 23rd of January 2002 at its Rockefeller Plaza premises, with highlights including Bartolomeo Cincani, (called il Montagna) and his The Risen Christ, one of the artist’s best known paintings, with this preparatory work executed in brush and grey ink, and estimated at $ 500,000-700,000 (€ 557,690-780,760). Girolamo Francesco Maria Mazzola’s (called il Parmigianino) pen and brown ink drawing Head of a young man, is estimated at $ 80,000-120,000 (€ 89,230-133.840). In addition Jean-Étienne Liotard's Woman in a Turkish costume instructing her servant, a hitherto unknown version of one of the artist's best known compositions (another version of this work sold at Christie’s, London for $ 1.5 million, (€ 1.67 million) in July, 1995), is estimated at $ 800,000-1.2 million (€ 892,320-1.34 million).
